The Char Dham Yatra is one of India's most spiritually significant pilgrimage circuits. Situated in the majestic Garhwal region of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, it covers four holy shrines: Yamunotri (the source of Yamuna River), Gangotri (the source of Ganga River), Kedarnath (one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva), and Badrinath (the sacred seat of Lord Vishnu).

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Board your private vehicle from Haridwar Railway Station or Hotel and depart for Barkot via Dehradun and Mussoorie. En route, stop to enjoy the beautiful Kempty Falls. Arrive at Barkot, check-in to your deluxe camp/hotel, and rest for the overnight stay to prepare for the Yamunotri trek.
Early morning drive to Janki Chatti (45 km). Start the 6 km steep trek to Yamunotri temple (by foot, pony, or doli). Pay your respects at the Yamunotri shrine, cook rice in the hot sulphur spring water at Surya Kund, and take blessings at Divya Shila. Trek back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot.
Drive alongside the beautiful Bhagirathi River to Uttarkashi. In the evening, visit the historic Lord Vishwanath Temple, Shakti Temple, and Bhairav Temple. Uttarkashi is a spiritual town known for its ancient shrines and peaceful ashrams. Overnight stay at hotel in Uttarkashi.
Drive through Harsil valley (renowned for apple orchards) to Gangotri Dham. Take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi river and attend puja at the white granite Gangotri temple. Return to Uttarkashi in the evening.
Drive across scenic mountain highways, passing through Tehri Dam views, Srinagar Garhwal, and Tilwara to reach Guptkashi (on the Mandakini River banks). Check in to hotel, and visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnareshwar Temple. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Early morning drive to Sonprayag. Take local shuttle jeeps to Gaurikund (5 km). Begin the 22 km uphill trek to Lord Shiva's holy seat, Kedarnath. Alternatively, board helicopter flights from Phata/Sersi (advance booking required). Check-in to government camps/guesthouses, and witness the magical evening temple aarti.
Early morning temple darshan to touch the sacred conical lingam. Trek down back to Gaurikund, take the local shuttle to Sonprayag, where our private driver will meet you to transport you back to your hotel in Guptkashi for a hot dinner and overnight rest.
Drive via Chopta, Pipalkoti, and Joshimath to Badrinath Dham. Take a refreshing bath at Tapt Kund hot springs, and visit the grand colorful Badrinath Temple. Explore Mana Village (the last Indian village bordering Tibet), Vyas Gufa, and Bhim Pul. Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Attend morning Vishnu darshan, then drive back towards Rudraprayag. Stop at Vishnuprayag, Nandprayag, and Karnaprayag confluences. Overnight stay at hotel in Rudraprayag or Birahi.
Drive back via Devprayag (Sangam confluence) and Rishikesh (visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and Triveni Ghat). Drop at Haridwar Railway Station or your hotel. The pilgrimage concludes with sacred memories!
